Temporary (maternity leave), part-time position, 55 hours per fortnight, commencing 30 January until 20 December 2024.

<p>We are seeking an innovative and energetic TAS/Hospitality Assistant for this Level 4 temporary part-time position.</p><p>This position is temporary for 55 hours (negotiable) per fortnight commencing 30 January 2024 until 20 December 2024. Work hours will be from 9am until 3pm daily (negotiable).</p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>Commitment to Catholic Education, a clear understanding of the vision and mission of Catholic Schools and a willingness to support the faith formation of students.</li><li>Previous experience in a school environment.</li><li>Strong communication skills and able to deal sensitively with students, parents/carers and staff when required.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.</li><li>Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel.</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication.</li><li>Accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>An understanding of the nature of Food Technology and Design &amp; Technology and the implementation of practical activities in these areas.</li><li>Proven ability to recognise confidential issues as they arise and to treat them with the sensitivity required.</li></ul><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Prepare appropriate materials and equipment for lessons and/or units of work in consultation with TAS/Hospitality teachers.</li><li>Support the TAS and VET faculty in the delivery of Hospitality and Technology subjects including Food Technology and Design &amp; Technology.</li><li>Maintain stock of teaching supplies relating to TAS and Hospitality subjects including Food Technology and Design &amp; Technology.</li><li>Office duties including printing</li><li>Assist with setting up (catering) for school events</li></ul><p><b>General Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):</b></p><ul><li>Assist teachers in the practical classroom as required.</li><li>Assist students in the practical classroom as required.</li><li>Liaise with suppliers for the ordering and delivery of consumables and equipment.</li><li>Provide support for teachers in relation to safety and general practices during lessons.</li><li>Ensure safe control and operation of equipment and provide reports to the TAS Coordinator.</li><li>Oversee regular maintenance of kitchens, workshops, textiles room, TAS classrooms and equipment as directed by the TAS and VET Coordinators.</li><li>Monitor Work Health and Safety requirements within the TAS department, notifying staff of concerns or changes.</li><li>Establish and maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for Work Health and Safety purposes.</li><li>Maintain digital records of orders, invoicing and payments for TAS resources.</li><li>Regular cleaning and sanitation of food preparation areas, and cleaning of workshops, textiles and TAS classrooms to ensure a safe environment.</li><li>Safe food handling practices, stock rotation and quality control.</li><li>Laundry and waste removal.</li></ul><p><b>Desirable Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in an equivalent or similar role.</li><li>Proficiency in the use of IT-based systems for stock ordering and calendar management.</li><li>Experience in the area of catering and food handling is preferred but not essential (Food Safety Supervisor Certificate).</li><li>Experience in other areas of TAS is welcomed.</li><li>Current First Aid qualifications.</li></ul><p><b>Please note candidates may be interviewed and appointed prior to the closing date.</b></p><p><b>Statement of Commitment to Child Safety </b><br /></p><p><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/12ydDkySwo9YX_KsXjFro08t9OXY7S2dZ/view" rel="nofollow">Click here</a> to access SCS&#39; Statement of Commitment to Child Safety and join us in creating a culture of child safety and wellbeing.<br /></p><p><b>Working With Children Check (WWCC)</b><br /></p><p>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment.</p>
