We are looking for a part-time Property Manager to join the team at Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School (LACS) in Santa Teresa, NT. This is a remarkable school in a beautiful community.
<p><b>We are looking for a part-time Property Manager at Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School in Santa Teresa, NT. We are also interested in this person taking on responsibility for WHS in the school. </b></p>

<p>This is an excellent opportunity to experience work and life in a semi-remote Aboriginal community. Ltyentye Apurte / Santa Teresa is located approximately 83 km outside Alice Springs. Both the community and school have won national awards for their work (Keep Australia Beautiful: Sustainable Communities - Tidy Towns).<br></p>

<p>Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School (LACS) is a K - 12 school. We have an enrolment of approximately 135 students and there are 44 staff. In terms of property, we have: a school spread over a large geographical area contained within a fence; a main building (admin, library, staff room, etc.); numerous outbuildings (classrooms, toilets, shade structures, etc.); 12 teacher houses situated outside the school; and, three vehicles (a 22-seater bus, a 10-seater bus and a troopy).</p>

<p><b>Key Responsibilities and Duties: </b></p>

<ul>
<li>To work closely with the Principal and Deputy Principal; and,</li>
<li>Manage the day-to-day property, grounds and maintenance duties and two local Arrernte staff.</li>
</ul>
<p><b><br></b></p>
<p><b>General duties include the following: </b></p>
<p></p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee the maintenance of school property / grounds, as outlying teacher accommodation and vehicles / equipment as necessary.</li>
<li>Daily checking in with school leadership and reviewing the ‘Maintenance Log’ to determine what needs doing.</li>
<li>Determine whether tasks can be done by local grounds / property staff or trade-persons are required.</li>
<li>Requisition / communicate with skilled trades-persons from Alice Springs as necessary.</li>
<li>Under direction from the Principal or delegate, seek competitive tender from trades-persons for larger jobs so as to get best quotes.</li>
<li>Supervise / assist local staff on grounds / property maintenance jobs as necessary. An element of capacity-building (skills transfer) is desirable too.</li>
<li>Ensure WHS in relation to all property / grounds / vehicle maintenance.</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Essential Criteria: </b></p>

<li>Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).</li>
<li>Commit to and support the Catholic ethos of the School and comply with CENT’s Code of Conduct.</li>
<li>Be a team player with a positive, collaborative approach to being at LACS and a strong desire to improve outcomes for Aboriginal staff and students.</li>

<p><b>Desirable Criteria:</b><br></p>
<p></p>
<ul>
<li>Willing to work at least three (3) days per week, ideally Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or by negotiation. IF WHS is added then a fourth day (possibly Friday).</li>
<li>Willing to drive 83 km each way (from Alice Springs and back) each week.</li>
<li>Willing to be accommodated in small flat provided by school / parish (free of charge to the position holder).</li>
<li>Available to work 10 weeks each term, for four terms each year (thus 40 / 52 weeks) work. </li>
<li>Handyman, painting, fencing, building would be desirable qualities.</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Remuneration: </b></p>

<ul>
<li>School Officer Level 3.1. Full-time rate: $70,248. Hourly: $36.40 + $150 travel expenses each week for the first 10 weeks.<br></li>
