<p>The role of the Wellbeing Teacher is to support the Principal and Leadership Team in managing the planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of the education of all students. It will involve working closely with the Principal in enacting the strategic directions of Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL) and the strategic deployment of resources, which reflect the following key priorities:<br></p> <ul> <li>Enlivening faith education and Catholic identity</li> <li>Developing a child safe, inclusive environment</li> <li>Building staff capacity to understand mental health and wellbeing concerns</li> <li>Facilitate professional learning opportunities which are aligned with the school's strategic improvement plan</li> <li>Building the capacity of staff to ensure expert teaching and use of high impact, evidence-based practice that ensure an accelerated rate of growth for every learner, focusing on mental health and wellbeing</li> </ul> <p><b>In addition, the applicants are required to:</b></p> <ul> <li>building the capacity of school staff, in particular classroom teachers, to identify and support students with mental health concerns in the classroom</li> <li>supporting the school to create clear referral pathways internally (within school) and externally (to community services) for students identified as requiring further assessment and intervention</li> <li>coordinating targeted mental health support for students by working with allied health staff, school wellbeing and leadership teams, teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies.</li> <li>demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills with colleagues, parents and students<br></li> <li>teach effectively to the diverse range of learning needs enriching the learning for all students</li> <li>demonstrate a willingness to evaluate and seek feedback to continually improve</li> <li>work collaboratively within all aspects of the school's professional learning structure</li> <li>hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration</li> <li>be accredited to teach and lead in a Catholic School or willingness to undertake study</li> <li>further study in the area of mental health and wellbeing, inclusive education preferred</li> </ul> <p>The interview process may commence prior to the closing date and, if a suitable applicant is found, the role may close early.
