Chevalier College seeks expressions of interest for a Teacher Assistant for 2024. The position is a temporary 1 year contract - 62 hours per fortnight.

As a heart-centred, learner-focused contemporary learning community Chevalier College strives to be collaborative and entrepreneurial thinkers who activate purposeful, meaningful and positive change in a rapidly changing world.</p><p><b>The Role </b></p><p>The Teacher Assistant (TA) is an important human resource who supports the diverse learning needs of students within the school community. The TA works under the supervision of the Leader of Learning – Diverse Learning and direction of the classroom teacher, to support student learning. They: </p><ul><li>Provide timetabled in-class support to enable teachers to flexibly address the needs of all students. </li><li>Implement specific skill training and/or reinforcement of skills. </li><li>Supervise individual or small groups of students in the learning space, playground, passive play area or beyond the school. </li><li>Assist in the maintenance and organisation of resource materials and equipment. </li><li>Assist in activities related to orientation and transition programs for students with additional needs. </li><li>Provide physical assistance and/or personal care to students (i.e., toileting support) </li><li>Perform specific tasks as directed by the principal or their delegate. </li></ul><p><b>Other </b></p><ul><li>The role is an Enterprise Agreement (EA) classified position at Level 3a at an hourly rate of $30.90. This role is required for school terms only. Indicative hours are 8.30am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday. </li><li>Salary and conditions will be as per the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Support Staff – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2020. </li><li>This is a child-related position. Preferred candidates are required to possess a valid a Working With Children Check and will be subject to identification verification.</li></ul>
