Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College is seeking an energetic LSO to work collaboratively in our Learning Enrichment Program to support students as well as lead our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enrichment program. Start Term 1, Week 5 - 2024. Temporary position for 1 Year.

<p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <div> This position encompasses supporting and working with a range of students with diverse learning needs, as well as overseeing the development, implementation and ongoing support of the College's Indigenous Support program. </div> <div> <br> </div> <div> Successful applicants for this position will have a demonstrated record of developing positive relationships with students. </div> <div> <br> </div> <div></div> <div> <b>Essential Criteria: </b> </div> <ul> <li>A working understanding of, and overt commitment to the ethos of a Catholic School in the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Tradition.</li> <li>Experience in working with small groups of students in secondary education.</li> <li>Accompanying students to off-campus curricular and extra-curricular events such as excursions, sport and camps.</li> <li>The capacity and commitment to work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team, classroom teachers and students.</li> <li>The capacity to assist individual students with specific learning needs in the classroom.</li> <li>The capacity to contribute to the preparation of documentation required under legislation in line with privacy and confidentiality obligations.</li> <li>The capacity to contribute to course materials for learning support and Indigenous students.</li> <li>The capacity to provide cultural and personal support to Indigenous students.</li> <li>Abiding interest in the wellbeing and education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students</li> <li>Ability to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships within all areas of the College, local partnerships and community to influence and elevate Indigenous student’s engagement and academic success.</li> <li>The ability to provide leadership to staff and students in strengthening the understanding of Indigenous cultural knowledge to support reconciliation and student growth.</li> <li>Collaboratively work with all staff and faculties to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander historical and cultural perspectives across all areas of the curriculum and school life.</li> </ul> <div> <b>Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</b> </div> <ol> <li>WWCC Clearance</li> <li>Abiding interest in the wellbeing and education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and all diverse learning students.</li> <li>Demonstrated work experience in this field or related fields.</li> <li>Good communication, empathy and relationship building skills.</li> <li>Honesty, integrity and authenticity in dealings with parents, students and colleagues.</li> <li>Willingness to undertake training in the delivery of student support programs.</li> <li>Willingness to support the philosophy of the College in regards to the inclusive education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.</li> </ol> <div> <b>Applications Close: 3 December 2023</b> </div> <div> <br> </div>
