<p>The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this full time position of Education Officer - Creative and Music Ministry in the Catholic Life, Education and Mission Service Area.</p>
<p>This is a three year contract (commencing at the start of 2024 school year) with the possibility of extension or employment in one of the Wollongong Diocesan schools, in consultation with the Assistant Director - Catholic, Life Education and Mission.</p>

<p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p>
<p>As a member of the Catholic Life, Education and Mission Service Area, this position will play a pivotal role in nurturing and developing the creative and music ministry within Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW).</p>
<p>This multifaceted position combines a passion for faith, music, and the arts with a commitment to education, empowering students to serve and worship God through creativity and music. The Education Officer (Creative and Music Ministry) will contribute to the faith and liturgical experience and expression of our school communities.</p>
<p><strong>THE ROLE INVOLVES</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Musical Education: Providing music support to enhance the quality of and appreciation for liturgical music.</li>
<li>Curriculum Resource Development Support: In partnership with the CLEM team members and schools develop and adapt educational materials, lesson plans, and workshops to align with the Diocesan RE curriculum to enhance pedagogy and knowledge of Catholic values and beliefs.</li>
<li>Worship Integration: Collaborate with Religious Education Coordinators and educators to seamlessly integrate music and creative arts into school liturgical events and religious education programs.</li>
<li>Ensemble Formation: Facilitate the formation of music ensembles and choir groups among CEDoW staff for significant CEDoW celebrations, such as Education Mass.</li>
<li>Event Coordination: Organise and lead special events, concerts, exhibitions, and performances, showcasing the talents and achievements of students.</li>
<li>Spiritual Development: Emphasise the connection between artistic expression and Catholic faith, promoting a holistic approach to education and faith formation.</li>
<li>Administrative Tasks: Manage logistics, budgets, and schedules related to the role, compliance with system and government policies.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A deep understanding of and a commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church</li>
<li>A thorough understanding of and engagement with Lighting the Way 2023+</li>
<li>A strong commitment to the Catholic faith and its values.</li>
<li>Relevant educational qualifications in education and theology.</li>
<li>Proficiency in vocal or instrumental music and a solid foundation in various artistic disciplines.</li>
<li>Experience in music and creative resource development to support RE curriculum, engaging pedagogy and liturgical celebrations.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>The ability to inspire and mentor others in their artistic and formation in the Catholic Tradition especially in the areas of liturgy and sacred music. </li>
<li>Strong organisational and administrative skills.</li>
<li>Collaboration and team-building abilities.</li>
<li>Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of staff and students in a school environment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong> QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW and with a minimum 5 years teaching experience.</li>
<li>Accreditation in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy, or a commitment to gain an appropriate level within the first 5 years of employment within CEDoW.</li>
<li>Current NSW Drivers licence.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong> WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</strong></p>
<p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p>
