We work with children, adults, and their families, providing a holistic approach to hearing services for newborns through to people over 90 years old, and helping children who are blind or have low vision to develop the right skills, mobility, and independence to confidently explore their world.</p> <p>NextSense Kindergarten at Blackburn provides inclusive programs for hearing children and those with hearing loss who are 3 and 4 years old. Our programs aim to stimulate a child’s development, and build self-confidence and social skills to best prepare them for school.</p> <p></p> <p>We offer a caring and community-connected environment with a play-based learning program. We provide a safe and secure environment where children can actively engage with one another to make sense of their world.<br></p> <p>Our environment is specifically designed to facilitate an optimal hearing environment which promotes the development of oral language and socialisation of all children. We believe that play is the context for all learning and allows the child to express their personality and uniqueness, to demonstrate curiosity and creativity, develop relationships and concepts, and develop their sense of well-being.</p> <p><b>The Role </b></p> <p>NextSense has an exciting opportunity for a Kindergarten Director to join our team at Blackburn. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 38 hours per week across 5 days and reports directly to the Head of Education Strategy. You’ll make a difference in this role by:</p> <ul> <li>Overseeing the daily operation of the Kindergarten</li> <li>Managing and resourcing your team, in collaboration with the Area Manager</li> <li>Creating and managing day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons and providing resources for children</li> <li>Designing, developing, implementing and evaluating individual education programmes</li> <li>Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children, including those that are deaf/hard of hearing</li> <li>Providing leadership and promoting the professional development of the team</li> </ul> <p><b>What we can offer you </b></p> <ul> <li>Competitive remuneration</li> <li>100% salary packaging allowing you to increase your take home pay</li> <li>Extensive personal/carer’s leave</li> <li>Paid parental leave of 14 weeks for primary carers and 6 weeks for secondary carers</li> <li>Access to industry leading education and professional development</li> <li>Collaborative work environment</li> <li>Wellbeing program including Employee Assistance Program</li> </ul> <p><b>Desired Skills and Experience </b></p> <p>To be successful in this role you'll need to demonstrate you meet the following selection criteria:</p> <ul> <li>University qualifications in Early Childhood Education which meet requirements to be a Nominated Supervisor</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a ECEC centre</li> <li>Experience in delivering inclusive early childhood teaching programs</li> <li>Sound understanding of and commitment to The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and The National Quality Framework</li> <li>Experience working with children and families with sensory needs and CALD backgrounds</li> <li>A current First Aid Certificate, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training</li> <li>Registration with Victorian Institute of Teaching</li> </ul> <p>We’re here to help.
