We aim to work with our parents to produce young people of faith and character.&nbsp; We are a Catholic Co-educational College in Tarneit, west of Melbourne with 1220 students.</p> <p><b>About the role</b><br></p> <p>As a Learning Support Officer your responsibilities are incorporated in those of a normal teaching role. The additional areas of responsibility include -</p> <p></p> <ul> <li>Providing support to students with additional needs<br></li> <li>Assisting with the College’s response to the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) process</li> <li>Providing effective, accurate and comprehensive support for all aspects of Learning Diversity initiatives.</li> <li>Adhering to all Child Safety legislation and College requirements</li> <li>Support for the religious ethos of the College<br></li> <li>Demonstrating a strong understanding of, and commitment, to Catholic education.<br></li> <li>Demonstrating an understanding and acceptance of the Thomas Carr College Mission Statement and the values that underpin it.</li> <li>Demonstrating evidence of the ability to work with students and staff in classrooms to support student learning outcomes</li> </ul> <p>You must have -</p> <ul> <li>Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all members of the College community<br></li> <li>Proficiency with computers- the internet, email navigation and Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel</li> <li>An understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students</li> <li>Certificate III or IV qualification in Educational Support or equivalent</li> <li>A current Working With Children Check and National Police Record History Check and is a suitable person to engage in child-connected work</li> <li>A current Victorian Driver’s Licence<br></li> </ul> <p><b>To apply for this position </b></p> <p></p> <p>Please email your application by 6 December 2023 at 9.00am to <b><a href="mailto:employment@thomascarr.vic.edu.au?subject=Learning%20Support%20Officers%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">employment@thomascarr.vic.edu.au</a></b> including your resume, a cover letter addressing the key criteria listed in the Duty Statement and the names of 3 referees as well as a completed <b>Support Staff Application form</b> located in the 'Our College' section of the College website.</p> <p><i>Our school community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.</i></p> <p></p> <p></p>
