Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and shares in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community. Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.

It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Key focus areas</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">The Secondary Religious Education / Visual Arts Teacher will fit the following criteria:</p> <p dir="ltr">-Demonstrate understanding of the curriculum and the Theology by which it is underpinned, by knowing key concepts, skills, pedagogy, subject specific literacy and language and current issues pertaining to Religious Education.</p> <p dir="ltr">-Teachers are able to critically select each of these appropriate to each student's stage of development and challenges students to be witnesses of faith by providing them appropriate activities in formation.</p> <p dir="ltr">-Teachers of Religious Education plan for and implement effective learning and teaching by negotiating with students to develop individual, explicit, challenging and achievable learning goals.</p> <p dir="ltr">-This teacher designs conceptually coherent learning programmes using research evidence and appropriate teaching strategies.</p> <p dir="ltr">-Analyses and evaluates a student's learning by using a range of strategies for providing feedback in relation to the student's current and future learning.</p> <p dir="ltr">-Teachers of Religious Education are foremost a Witness to Faith. They are committed to the continual improvement of their teaching practice by using professional teaching standards and key educational and Church documents to evaluate regularly their professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
