The primary function of the Instrumental Music Teacher is to deliver the College’s instrumental music program including the Year 7 instrumental program. The Instrumental Music Teacher is required to tutor students on a rotational basis depending upon the student needs.

<p>The primary function of the Instrumental Music Teacher is to deliver the College’s instrumental music program including the Year 7 instrumental program. The Instrumental Music Teacher is required to tutor students on a rotational basis depending upon the student needs. The teaching load is dependent on the number of instrumental music students plus out of hours concert performances and ensemble rehearsals.&nbsp;Tuition is conducted in both individual and group lessons based upon the student’s ability and instrument, with group lessons ranging from 3 – 4 students. Instruments can be separated for the right candidate(s).</p> <p>SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED</p> <p>The Instrumental Music Teacher must be able to demonstrate the following:</p> <p>• Appropriate qualifications and/or experience (Working with Children Check).</p> <p>• Have VIT registration (preferred but not essential).</p> <p>• Demonstrated experience working within a school environment would be advantageous.</p> <p>• Recognised expertise as a music tutor in one or more instruments.</p> <p>• Demonstrated commitment to the safety of children and young people.</p> <p>• Being a current performer either as a soloist or member of an ensemble is important to current practice and application of technique.</p> <p>• High proficiency in instrument category</p> <p>• Ability to engage students in quality learning experiences and maintain sound student management practices.</p> <p></p> <p>KEY SELECTION CRITERIA<br></p> <p>The successful applicant will demonstrate evidence of:</p> <p>1. A capacity to understand and animate Catholic identity, Salesian charism and College values in all aspects of College life.</p> <p>2. A commitment to Child Safety and the welfare of young people and a strong knowledge and understanding of Child Safety legislation and responsibilities.</p> <p>3. Recognised expertise as a music tutor in one or more instruments, including instrument category.</p> <p>4. Capacity to engage with students in quality learning experiences and maintain sound student management practices.</p> <p>5.
