<p>Catholic Regional College Sydenham was founded in 1982 as a Catholic senior school for students in the West of Melbourne. It is the largest of its kind in Victoria, specialising in VCE, VCAL and VET studies.</p><p>Learning Area Convenors are appointed as curriculum leaders of the College, responsible for the strategic and organisational leadership of a learning area comprising of a range of VCE, VET and/or VCAL subjects. A successful LAC will ensure that all administrative and organisational requirements of the learning area are met, whilst promoting student engagement, pedagogical innovation and positive school culture. All Learning Area Convenors at the College are part of collaborative and innovative teams and report directly to a member of the College Leadership Team. </p><p>The Learning Area Convenor - Vocational Major will lead the VCE Vocational Major programme within the College.</p><p>At Catholic Regional College Sydenham we endeavour that our leaders have:</p><ul><li>a strong focus on engaging and collaborating with strong teams, ensuring that staff are empowered to embrace continuous change and improvement;</li><li>responsibility for the implementation of the College Vision, Mission and Values;</li><li>the ability to participate in the  implementation of the College’s strategic plans and direction;</li><li>authority to lead the staff to ensure consistent practices; and </li><li>an opportunity to participate in a middle leaders development program.</li></ul><p>Successful applicants will be able to fulfil the following additional requirements: </p><ul><li>Must hold a current VIT registration as well as the relevant tertiary qualifications</li><li>Must hold a valid visa and/or full Australian Working Rights and provide evidence of this</li><li>Must have a strong commitment to Catholic education</li><li>Must comply with the CRC Sydenham Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct</li><li>Must have a willingness to work closely and collaboratively with parents, staff, and other professionals to support the learning and wellbeing of students</li></ul><p>Catholic Regional College Sydenham is a child safe employer and is committed to the welfare of children and their protection.
