<p>Loreto College Ballarat is an independent Catholic secondary school for girls. We have been proudly educating young women of influence for almost 150 years, with an enrolment of 950 students supported by 150 teaching and operational staff.</p> <p>With an exciting new vision for expansion and innovative and contemporary education, Loreto College Ballarat is committed to following in the footsteps of Mary Ward by developing future-ready students able to thrive in a changing world.</p> <p><b>About the role </b></p> <p>Working in a part-time capacity (0.6 FTE), the Loreto College Archivist will work closely with the Loreto Province Archivist. They are based in the same facility and the College's archival records prior to 1975 are managed and maintained by the Province Archivist. All post 1975 records are the responsibility of the College to maintain in accordance with archival standards and appropriate legislation.</p> <p>The Archivist has responsibility for the collection, storage conservation and retrieval of these records and will provide access to the records and historic material to the school community including current students and staff, past students and external researchers.</p> <p><b>Job responsibilities include: </b></p> <ul> <li>Developing and maintaining a system for the record-keeping and storage of all material associated with legislative and heritage requirements.</li> <li>Developing and maintaining a system designed to facilitate retrieval of archival records and materials as and when the need arises.</li> <li>Sourcing, collecting, documenting and storing archival materials in keeping with professional archival standards.</li> <li>Ensuring the preservation and conservation of materials, liaise with conservation experts where necessary.</li> <li>Devise and ensure correct use of school record retention.</li> <li>Providing records management advice, support and training in the management of all records created by the College particularly those in areas of administration and governance.</li> <li>Providing research services for internal and external enquirers.</li> <li>Maintaining the archival database</li> </ul> <p>The successful applicant must hold or be willing to acquire a Working with Children Check card and obtain a National Police Record Check.</p> <p>For further information on this position and on how to apply please refer to the College website www.loreto.vic.edu.au/employment</p> <p><b>Applications Close at 5pm on Wednesday 4th October 2023</b>.</p> <p><i>The Loreto College community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.</i></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p>
