Classroom Teacher

<p>St Robert’s Catholic Primary School, Newtown, is seeking applications for a dynamic classroom teacher. Our school is a vibrant, friendly, and welcoming community and we are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher who will embrace the opportunity to engage our students in a knowledge-rich curriculum within a faith-filled environment. </p><p>We welcome the ‘wisdom of the experienced’ or the ‘enthusiasm of the new’ who wish to continue their professional growth and development in a school community that promotes and embeds evidence-based practices that align with the Science of Reading and the Science of Learning. St Robert&#39;s uses a low-variance knowledge-rich curriculum with slide decks to support student outcomes. Explicit Direct Instruction Engagement Norms sit at the core of classroom management at St Robert&#39;s. </p><p>The successful applicant will join our teaching team for Term Three and Term Four.</p><p>St Robert’s Catholic Primary School is committed to the safety, well-being, and protection of all children in our care. </p><p>The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic classroom practitioner, familiar with the Victorian Curriculum, who is able to collaborate with others as part of a level team, working towards improving learning outcomes for all students. </p><p>A passion for learning and teaching and a working knowledge of contemporary learning is essential as well as a strong commitment to professional learning. </p><p><u><b>Special Requirements:</b></u></p><ul><li>full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching </li><li>accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School is desirable </li><li>committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this, and to ongoing evaluation of these practices </li><li>only applications that include the attached application form will be considered</li><li>list at least two referees including the current principal where applicable</li><li>willingness to undertake the SOLAR course </li><li>willingness to teach within a SOR/ SOL classroom </li><li>an ability to apply Engagement Norms and TAPPLE within the classroom</li><li>be familiar with Spelling Mastery </li><li>understand cognitive load theory</li></ul><p><b><u>Application process:</u></b> </p><p>To apply please include a cover letter, your CV and respond to the listed criteria below. Be faith-filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social, and educational well-being of all students. </p><p>2. Display passion and enthusiasm in their professional interactions.</p><p>3. Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families. </p><p>4. Use supportive behaviour management practices.</p><p>5. Display a strong understanding of contemporary learning practices including explicit direct instruction and how to use such strategies to positively impact student learning.
