All applicants need to demonstrate a commitment to the same principles.</p><p>Applications are invited from a qualified and experienced Learning Support Officer (LSO) to join a team dedicated to achieving engaging learning experiences that challenge children to achieve their personal best.</p><p><b>Previous experience in Special Education settings and supporting students with autism preferred when applying for this position. University students studying Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy are encouraged to apply.</b></p><p>We have an opening for a dedicated LSO to work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm, for 32.50hrs per week which is 0.86 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) commencing April 26th until 19th December 2023.  <br /></p><p>The salary will be in accordance with the VCEMEA as varied or replaced from time to time.</p><p>The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Learning Diversity Leader and Classroom teacher to support students learning through individual and small group work both within and outside of the classroom.<br /></p><p><b>It is expected that the successful applicant will </b></p><p>• Be committed to the Church&#39;s mission in Catholic Education and have a personal faith commitment </p><p>• Be highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic </p><p>• Be a reflective practitioner who has an understanding of the diverse needs of students who require individual and classroom support. </p><p>• Be able to work in collaboration with teachers as part of a team. </p><p>• Have excellent communication skills </p><p>• Be organised, supportive and resourceful. </p><p>• Use initiative within the class environment to ensure optimal student support </p><p>• Be self-motivated and work independently if necessary </p><p>• Be able to build positive relationships with children and assist in creating learning environments where all are valued and challenged </p><p>• Demonstrate an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students </p><p>• Be committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement </p><p>• Be able to embed ICT into the LSO role </p><p>• be willing to be involved in the school&#39;s co-curricular activities </p><p><br /></p><p>Applicants should complete the application attached and return to:</p><p><a href="mailto:princiapl&#64;sfmoreland.catholis.edu.au" rel="nofollow">principal&#64;sfmoreland.catholic.edu.au</a> no later than 5:00pm Friday July 8 2022.</p><p><b>Special Requirements: </b></p><p>Applicants must have: </p><p>• Current working with Children Check </p><p>• Current Police Check </p><p>• Three Professional Referees </p><p><br /></p><p> </p>
