Our staff and students work together to create and embrace school traditions and community spirit which makes our school unique. </p><p>Purpose of the Position </p><p>This position requires an enthusiastic, innovative and engaging Agriculture Teacher, who is committed and passionate about supporting the meaningful involvement of the whole school community in our Agricultural Program and Livestock Team activities. You will need to be an experienced teacher who strives to share knowledge in a way that motivates and inspires students to realise their potential. </p><p>You will be entrusted with the leadership of the School’s Agriculture Program and Livestock Team, representing an exciting opportunity to complement student learning with practical experiences. Our Livestock Team is both highly successful and well-supported by the School community. Through the Agriculture Program and Livestock Team, the School seeks to foster future Agricultural leaders who are self-confident, knowledge seekers, in possession of the keys to even greater personal success. </p><p>As a teacher at NEGS, you must be tolerant of different opinions and be able to create a learning environment where students respect each other. As supervisor of the Agriculture Program, you have access to the school’s agricultural facilities including an exhibition steer feedlot, a first cross sheep flock, Berkshire pigs, poultry and fowl as well as established vegetable crops and orchard. </p><p>The successful candidate will be entrusted to further develop the NEGS Agricultural Program with the scope to develop a truly world-class school Agricultural Program. </p><p>Applications due by Sunday 19 March 2023. </p><p>Key Selection Criteria </p><p>Required: </p><p>• A Bachelor of Education in Secondary Science (Agriculture) or a degree qualification supported by a Post Graduate Diploma, or Masters, of Education. </p><p>• Current Teachers Accreditation with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA). </p><p>• Hold or ability to obtain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) number. </p><p>• The ability to teach Science and Stage 4 Technology. </p><p>• Demonstrated ability to provide guidance in livestock showing which encourages students to improve their livestock handling skills and develop their self-confidence. </p><p>• Willingness to embrace the use of relevant resources and strategies to improve student agency, engagement, differentiation and learning. </p><p>• Willingness to embrace and nurture the School’s Agriculture Program. </p><p>• Willingness and ability to support the School’s Livestock Team, which will, on occasion, require travel. </p><p>• Outstanding people skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. </p><p>• Highly organised, with competent administration and IT skills. </p><p>• Committed to ongoing professional development and personal growth. </p><p>• Be skilled in classroom management and administration. </p><p>• Understand the need to provide effective feedback to students in order to improve their understanding and learning. </p><p>• Possess a drive to achieve the best outcomes for students, parents and the School. </p><p>• Willingness to attend School events as an active member in the School community. </p><p>• Willingness to contribute and display an active commitment to the pastoral care and co-curricular programs in the School. </p><p>• Appreciation of the principles and practices of independent schools, in particular, boarding schools. </p><p>Preferred: </p><p>• Demonstrated experience in a similar position. </p><p><br /></p>
