Domremy College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified STEM and Maker Space Technician for a temporary part time position commencing Term 1, 2024. This role reports immediately to the STEM Coordinator. The role covers 2 days per week for a total of 12 hours commencing Term 1, 2024.

<p>The role of the STEM &amp; Maker Space Technician is to assist in the provision of practical support to the STEM Department and students. This role is ideally suited to a person who enjoys assisting practical lessons as well as having some knowledge and expertise in STEM. A willingness to collaborate, communicate effectively and use initiative are essential.</p> <p>As a member of Domremy College, the role requires a commitment to Catholic education, a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic Schools and a willingness to contribute to the faith formation of students.</p> <p>Key Selection criteria:</p> <p>The successful applicant will:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for 3D printing works for staff and students.</li> <li>Responsible for using a Eplilog Fusion Edge 24 Laser Cutter and engraver.</li> <li>Maintain an inventory of STEM related equipment and consumables.</li> <li>Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice, targeted to professional needs and school priorities</li> <li>Organise designated tasks.</li> <li>Ensure the newly built Maker Space is operating accordingly, manage stock, repair equipment, consolidate equipment for practical lessons.</li> <li>Be willing to work as a member of a team by being an effective communicator and willing to use initiative and discretion.</li> <li>Be a positive line of communication for the staff, Visual Arts Coordinator and the Principal.</li> <li>Work in accordance with the SCS code of professional conduct, WH&amp;S and Staff Handbook.</li> <li>Undertake any other duties as directed from time to time and actively support the School.</li> </ul> <p>Specific Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and skills in how to troubleshoot the following technologies:</li> <li>&nbsp;- Flash Forge Inventor &amp; Perusa 3D Printers, Raise 3D E2 Dual Extractor 3D printer</li> <li>&nbsp;- Epilog Fusion Edge 24 Laser Cutter and Engraver</li> <li>&nbsp;- Arduino and Microbits</li> <li>A genuine interest in STEM related technologies.</li> <li>Time management and organisation skills.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire children and staff.</li> <li>Coding or programming skills would be desirable but not essential.</li> </ul> <p>Formal Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Qualifications and/or experience as a School Support Officer.</li> </ul> <p>Applicants must be registered to work with Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS), to commence this process, please go to the Sydney Catholic Schools website.</p> <p><br></p> <p><br></p> <p><br></p> <p></p> <p></p>
