We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our College on a part-time ongoing (3 or 4 days per week) contract to support our Teachers and Allied Health staff as part of the College Learning Adjustment Program that helps students participate in school activities.

<p>St Francis Xavier College is a Catholic college with a 2023 enrollment of 3300 students.</p> <p>The College serves families from the parishes of Berwick, Koo Wee Rup, Maryknoll/Iona, Narre Warren and Pakenham under the governance of Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL).<br></p> <p>St Francis Xavier College is easily accessed via several major freeways – only 20 minutes on the M1 from Springvale Road.<br></p> <p>We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our College on a part-time ongoing (3 or 4 days per week) contract to support our Teachers and Allied Health staff as part of the College Learning Adjustment Program that helps students participate in school activities.<br></p> <p><b>Graduates are welcome to apply!</b><br></p> <p><b>Key responsibilities include:</b><br></p> <ul> <li>Conduct assessments for the identification of student needs and the provision of occupational therapy services</li> <li>Provide specialised occupational therapy services for students that enhance student learning outcomes</li> <li>Create, support and run targeted interventions for students</li> <li>Collaborate with teaching staff on the design and implementation of adjustments and modifications to the curriculum</li> <li>Maintain records of services provided to students</li> <li>Provide advice to teachers relating to learning program development and assessment</li> <li>Provide professional learning for teachers to assist with the enhancement of student learning</li> <li>Attend Program Support Group Meetings (PSGs)</li> <li>Support teachers with applications for programs to support student learning</li> <li>Work collaboratively with the Allied Health and Learning Adjustment team</li> <li>Attend Team meetings</li> <li>Maintain students’ files and keep necessary records, observing the requirements both of access and privacy, preserving confidentiality and discretion in relation to staff and students</li> <li>Assist teachers in the preparation of Personal Learning Plans.</li> <li>Complete other duties as requested by the Principal or Executive team</li> </ul> <p><b>To excel in this position, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:</b><br></p> <ul> <li>Relevant and APRHA-recognised degree in a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent</li> <li>Hold a full registration with APHRA</li> <li>Experience in the adolescent population and mental health field</li> <li>Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to consult, counsel and liaise with a wide range of people from culturally diverse backgrounds</li> <li>Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products and computer systems</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload in an efficient and effective manner</li> <li>Advanced understanding of relevant assessments and interventions</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve sensitive issues in a confidential manner</li> <li>Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and ability to keep accurate data on service</li> <li>Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team</li> <li>Capacity for a high level of discretion and professional judgement</li> <li>Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities</li> <li>Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety</li> <li>Understanding of and capacity to follow relevant College policy and government legislation e.g. Privacy Law</li> <li>An understanding of and commitment to Catholic education</li> </ul> <p>Staff are employed under the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited Schools and Secretariat Agreement 2022.<br></p> <p>This position is classified as Category C, Level 4, with a salary range between $85,888 and $97,830 (full-time equivalent).</p> <p><b>Application close Wednesday, 6 December 2023 at 5:00pm.</b><br></p> <p>The successful applicant will also be required to undergo a Working with Children Check and National Police Check prior to commencement.<br></p> <p>The St Francis Xavier College community is committed to the safety, wellbeing, protection and inclusion of all children in our care.</p>
