<p>We are immensely proud of the opportunities that are afforded to students here at St Patrick’s, with a robust Co-curricular sporting and cultural program, excellence in learning and teaching, and faith formation and prayer life.</p> <p>St Patrick’s College has enjoyed a rich and proud history of Football since 1978, built on the foundations of camaraderie, competition, teamwork, good sportsmanship and school pride.</p> <p><b>2 year full-time temporary contract position – Commence Monday 29 January 2024 </b></p> <p>Reporting to the Director of Co-curricular, through the Head of Sport, the Head of Football will be responsible for the overall management, promotion and development of the College's Football Program from Year 5 to Year 12.</p> <p>This position will be expected to both lead, develop and implement strategies to promote and improve Football at the College in addition to coordinating the activities of the College's Football program to ensure the sport is carried out efficiently and effectively. Thus, it is expected you will be leading training sessions; monitoring student attendance; attending all trials and trial fixtures games and tours; managing the appointment of Football referees for fixtures; providing weekly reports and summary of results; ensuring grounds are prepared for games; and, equipment is available and distributed.</p> <p>Ultimately, we would like to ensure that we continue to have a Football Program that is unique to St Patrick’s College, and one that provides boys and coaches a well organised and administered program in addition to a practical, functional and achievable pathway to achieve both individual and team success and enjoyment.</p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities </b></p> <ul> <li>To develop a St Patrick’s Football curriculum / program for ages 10 - 18 that all College Football coaches, and their teams are to follow.</li> <li>Oversee the implementation of the Football curriculum / program and monitor its effectiveness regularly.</li> <li>Cultivate and manage the implementation of a progressive skill, training and testing program for all ages and levels.</li> <li>Coordinate the activities of the College's Football program to ensure the sport is carried out efficiently and effectively.</li> <li>Recommend to the Head of Sport the list of Coaching Staff.</li> <li>Identify Football coaching staff needs and facilitate appropriate skill development.</li> <li>Provide coaches with a range of resources including sessions run by internal and/or external skill development coaches.</li> <li>To develop long term plans for Football as required.</li> <li>To assist, lead and motivate the Coaches and the boys to achieve their best.</li> <li>Ensure compliance matters pertaining to coaches are met and records kept in consultation with the Director of Human Resources, Risk and Governance, and Director of Co-curricular.</li> </ul> <p>You will be able to demonstrate you satisfy the following essential selection criteria:</p> <p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p> <ul> <li>AFC B Level qualifications as a minimum</li> <li>Experience in a similar role and/or ability to provide leadership to the Football Program for both on field performance as well as off field team building and cohesion</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of technical and tactical strategies in coaching Football</li> <li>Extensive working knowledge of concussion and serious injury response and management</li> <li>Ability to use an objective, standardised method for selecting player</li> <li>Excellent planning, organisation, coordination and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Excellent administration and written communication skills</li> <li>Ability to exercise substantial independent judgement and initiative</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build strong and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders</li> <li>Ability to maintain an environment in which all students participate enthusiastically and where they strive to excel</li> <li>Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance</li> <li>First Aid qualifications or a willingness to undertake</li> <li>A strong sense of community</li> </ul> <p><b>How to apply </b></p> <p>To express your interest in joining our highly motivated professional staff, apply via the online ‘Career Application’ available on our website <a href="https://www.spc.nsw.edu.au/working-spc/" rel="nofollow">Working at SPC | St Patrick's College Strathfield</a></p> <p>Your application should consist of:</p> <ul> <li><b>Cover letter</b> (maximum 2 pages) that highlights your claim for the role and demonstrates your suitability.</li> <li><b>Resume </b>(maximum 3 pages) detailing relevant work history, skills and experience.</li> </ul> <p>Essential to this position is a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition together with a commitment to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and young people.</p> <p>Evidence of a valid WWCC clearance and compliance with the College's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy will be required prior to employment.</p> <p><b>Applications close 4:00PM Wednesday 13 December 2023. </b></p> <p>Please contact the Human Resources Adviser on 02 8705 9251 for a confidential discussion regarding your interest in this opportunity.</p> <p>St Patrick’s College is a child safe and child-centred organisation, committed to the protection of children and has zero-tolerance of any abuse of children.
