The Head of the Arts is responsible for leading the development, implementation and review of all programs from Year 7 to 12 within the creative and performing learning area.

<p>The Heads of Department will meet regularly with the Deputy Principal and Director of Learning &amp; Innovation and will provide strategic information and materials through the Learning and Teaching Team. They will also take responsibility for ensuring curriculum material within their learning area is available to students, parents and staff through the Student Learning Management system, SIMON for Schools.<br></p> <p>The Head of Department will play a key role in ensuring the College remains compliant with curriculum areas of the School Registration process.</p> <p>The College has a strong focus upon the development and delivery of engaging curriculum and accompanying assessment and reporting protocols in line with the requirements Australian Curriculum.</p> <p>The position will need to exhibit a personal commitment to the mission and vision of St Virgil's College and work within the confines of Commonwealth Privacy legislation.</p> <p><b>Remuneration </b></p> <p>The Head of the Arts is a leadership role at the College and is remunerated in line with the scale for Positions of Responsibility (POR 2).</p> <p>A performance appraisal process relating to the key selection criteria for the position will be undertaken in line with the College’s Performance and Development Framework.</p> <p><b>Key Selection Criteria</b><br></p> <p>1. Demonstrated understanding and respect for the Catholic educational philosophy of St Virgil's College.</p> <p>2. Ability to develop leadership capacity in others and the ability to influence others through the modelling of exceptional professional knowledge and practice.</p> <p>3. A comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging trends in creative and performing arts.</p> <p>4. Demonstrated ability to successfully develop innovative curriculum initiatives that enhance educational outcomes for boys.</p> <p>5. Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to teach within the specified subject areas and understanding of the major educational issues impacting upon boys.</p> <p><br></p>
