<p><b>Applications are invited from suitably experienced persons for the part-time (12 hours or two days per week), ongoing position, 9am – 3:30pm (FTE 0.32) of Learning Support Officer to commence Term One 2024. <i>This is a Category B Level 2 position under the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited Schools and Secretariat Agreement 2022&nbsp;</i></b><br></p> <h4>ROLE DESCRIPTION</h4> <p>The role of the Student Wellbeing Officer, as outlined in the duties and responsibilities attached includes:</p> <ul> <li>supporting student attendance, engagement and mental health</li> <li>supporting students in difficult or challenging situations such as during times of grief.</li> <li>supporting physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and wellbeing of all students</li> <li>supporting an environment of cooperation and respecting a diversity of cultures and traditions.</li> </ul> <h4>KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:</h4> <p>The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate:<br></p> <ul> <li>A commitment to the ethos, values and mission of Catholic education.<br></li> <li>A commitment to Child Safety.</li> <li>Capacity to work within the school environment</li> <li>Experience in providing services to improve student engagement and connectedness</li> <li>An ability to provide wellbeing support and specific programs both within and outside of classroom environments to improve student engagement</li> <li>Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff</li> <li>A capacity to work closely with key staff members whilst adhering to the school-based policies and procedures.</li> </ul> <h4>QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS</h4> <ul> <li>Student wellbeing officers must hold a Certificate IV equivalent or higher qualification that includes competencies in mental health and making appropriate referrals, and providing pastoral care or working with youth.</li> <li>A valid Employee Working With Children Check&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><i>The interview process may commence prior to the closing date and, if a suitable applicant is found, the role may close early.
