We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and accredited educational psychologist with a passion for early childhood intervention, to work within a Catholic Primary School in the outer Northern area of Melbourne. Our Lady’s Primary School is focused on delivering educational approaches that are personalised and student centred.

<p>This position requires you to work in partnership with families, a range of early childhood professionals and other stakeholders, using a strengths-based approach and a family partnership framework, to meet the needs of children and their families.&nbsp;</p> <p>The successful applicant is required to be a confident communicator, as they will be asked to participate in and contribute to a collaborative team environment, developing supportive professional working relationships with staff, students, parents and carers, and providing advice and guidance to all involved. They will also be required to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with and advise other professionals in providing services to students.&nbsp;</p> <p>Key Selection Criteria:<br></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated capacity to work with staff, parents, and students in the delivery of day to day expectations of a registered psychologist.&nbsp;<br></li> <li>Demonstrated superior clinical skills in the assessment of learning and emotional needs of children and showed ability to implement appropriate interventions.</li> <li>Knowledge of appropriate recommendations for staff and families to support the needs of individual students (e.g. behaviour management, student learning and social and emotional interventions).</li> <li>Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.</li> <li>Demonstrated the ability to engage in evidence based short-term counselling, deliver group interventions and provide appropriate referrals externally based on student needs.</li> <li>Registered Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Note: It is a legal requirement for a psychologist to be registered with AHPRA and the practice of psychology cannot be performed without such registration being confirmed.</li> <li>Member of the Australian Psychological Society desirable.</li> <li>Hold a valid working with children check.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>Child Safe Standards<br></p> <p>Our Lady’s Primary School is a child safe environment. It is advertised as a fulltime position, however partime applications will also be considered. Renumeration would be ESB 5-5 $109, 219 for fulltime suitably experienced and qualified candidate. 8.30am -3.30pm during school terms.
