<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt"><strong><em>The role of the Student Wellbeing Officer is to support the emotional well-being of students. The<a href="https://csolismore.schoolzineplus.com/_file/media/6362/nswp_guidelines_2024_2027.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> National School Wellbeing Program</a> supports schools to provide a school-based role that is recognised as part of the whole school approach to pastoral car</em>e.</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt"><strong>Applicants must:</strong></span></p>
</div>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">have compliance with the <a href="https://csolismore.schoolzineplus.com/_file/media/2304/accreditation_to_work_teach_lead.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead</a> Policy upon appointment. </span></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">hold a minimum <strong>qualification or qualifications,</strong> equivalent to or higher than, a Certificate IV as determined by the States, and this qualification or qualifications must include competencies in both: </span>
<p dir="ltr"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt"> • mental health and making appropriate referrals; and </span><br><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt"> • providing pastoral care, and/or working with youth</span></p></li>
<li>
<p dir="ltr"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Persons holding a formal qualification (Certificate IV or above) in a related field (eg, Theology/ Nursing/Policing, etc) which includes components dealing with mental health and client referrals are deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.</span></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p dir="ltr"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Teachers, social workers, counsellors or psychologists in training are also deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.</span></p></li>
<li>
<p dir="ltr"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Applicants with a teaching degree meet the qualifications but will not be remunerated as a teacher. </span></p></li>
</ul></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Applicants are required to complete the professional learning package in responding to and preventing cyberbullying delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing NSWP services and refresh this professional learning at least once every two and a half years.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt"><strong>Criteria: </strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Experience in providing support to children and/or young people to address social and emotional needs</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Ability to support schools and teachers in identifying and develop educational, social and emotional programs to support children and young people who are vulnerable or at risk</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Ability to liaise with community service organisations</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Experience in mentoring children and/or young people</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work effectively both independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary pastoral care team</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Have a demonstrated commitment to personal faith practice</span></li>
