<p>As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) <span>& Visual Art (VART)</span> Assistant is accountable for providing specialist support to our TAS/CAPA departments. Individuals with limited skills/experience will receive training and mentoring support hence the ideal candidate should possess the ability to acquire and enhance new skills.</p>
<p>The TAS/VART Assistant will:</p>
<ul>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">apply knowledge with depth in some areas and a broad range of skills in a variety of roles and tasks;</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">use discretion and judgement in planning and organising and achieving outcomes in time constraints;</li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">work under general direction. General Employees at this level may work semi- autonomously</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">perform duties that typically require a skill level which assumes and requires knowledge and training equivalent to completion of certificate III, or completion of year 12 or completion of certificate II, with relevant work experience.</p></li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr">Indicative Duties</p>
<ul>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">maintaining safety, cleanliness, and functionality of all equipment and machinery in the classrooms and specialty areas such as the Timber Workshops</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">management and maintenance of resources in preparation for lessons such as sharpening tools and docking timber</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">managing storerooms and monitoring and record keeping of stock and material costs</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">ordering resources as directed by the leader of learning</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">providing technical support to teachers and students in the classroom, and with equipment, processes, and media.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">ensuring that SAFE Work Practices and Procedures are in place, reporting potential risks or hazards</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">ability to develop skills in 3D printing, modelling, laser cutting, CNC milling, and other resources as required</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">proficient skills in software packages - Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom and CAD software</p></li>
<li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">
<p dir="ltr">other duties as directed by the Business Manager and/or Principal</p></li>
