We are a collaborative and hardworking community, committed to helping our students grow as enthusiastic, resourceful and self-disciplined learners in a safe and happy Catholic environment, centred firmly on the love of Jesus and living in His way.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>Our school is part of <a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/about-us" rel="nofollow">Sydney Catholic Schools</a> (SCS) which continues to be a thriving and growing contemporary educational community with over 145 schools, more than 71,000 students,10,000 staff and a large alumni community.</p> <p><br></p> <p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced teachers with a passion for teaching Religious Education and dedication to guiding young people in their faith development for this <b>temporary part time teaching position commencing Term 1 2024.</b></p> <p><b><br></b></p> <p><b>Essential Criteria:</b></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrable support and commitment to the mission, values and ethos of Catholic Education</li> <li>Registration, or eligibility for registration, to teach in Sydney Catholic Schools</li> <li>Accreditation to teach Religious Education in the Archdiocese of Sydney&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrable and sustained success as a Religious Education classroom teacher</li> <li>The ability to teach Studies of Religion (SOR)</li> <li>Ability and experience in using a range of evidence to assess, evaluate and improve teaching and learning practices</li> <li>Ability to implement high impact teaching strategies to improve literacy, numeracy and learning outcomes for every student</li> <li>Skilled and committed to working with students through a positive approach to behaviour management.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate collaboration and quality relationships in working with others</li> <li>Proven ability to integrate ICT into teaching and learning programs</li> </ul> <p><b><br></b></p> <p><b>Desirable</b></p> <ul> <li>Practising Catholic with current accreditation to teach Religious Education in the Archdiocese of Sydney</li> <li>Successful experience in teaching HSC Studies of Religion would be a distinct advantage</li> <li>Demonstrated ability and willingness to lead and support a range of co-curricular events&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><b><br></b></p> <p><b>You will have attained:</b></p> <ul> <li>a tertiary qualification in Education</li> <li>active membership with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) with a minimum accreditation level of Conditional</li> <li>SCS Employee ID number or a commitment to Register to Teach in SCS.</li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p><b>Please note candidates may be interviewed and appointed prior to the closing date.</b></p> <p><b><br></b></p> <p><b>Working With Children Check (WWCC)</b></p> <p>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment.</p>
