Educational Leader

The Educational Leader will create and implement the weekly play-based program based on current interests of the attending children and input from the Educator team. They will support and connect with children and their families and develop a respectful and collaborative relationship with the Educator team and management.

<p>Wahroonga After School Care Centre is seeking an Educational Leader to join our team.</p>
<p>The successful applicant will be joining a supportive and creative team of educators at a Centre known for its high-quality programming.</p>
<p>The Educational Leader will create and implement the weekly play-based program based on current interests of the attending children and input from the Educator team. They will support and connect with children and their families and develop a respectful and collaborative relationship with the Educator team and management.</p>
<p>Applicants should be passionate about the OOSH industry, have a solid knowledge of children’s development, and a clear understanding of how to provide a child-safe environment. Applicants must have good communication skills to build connection, understanding and empathy with children, colleagues and families.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<p>Preparation and implementation of educational programs, including vacation care.</p>
<p>Respecting, fostering, and building relationships with all children.</p>
<p>Support, management, and mentoring of Educators.</p>
<p>Connecting with and supporting families.</p>
<p>Understanding and implementing WHS requirements.</p>
<p>The successful candidate must have:</p>
<p>· Current Working with Children Check</p>
<p>· A current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificate</p>
<p>· Proof of Child Protection training</p>
<p>· A recognized qualification of at least Certificate IV or have three or more years’ experience in a relevant field, and demonstrate the ability to create play-based educational programs, and play, facilitate and engage with children.</p>
<p>· An understanding of Out of School Hours Framework (My Time our Place)</p>
<p>· An understanding of the National Quality Framework</p>
<p>· Proven ability to apply different management styles when managing children.</p>
<p>· Experience assisting in providing and facilitating an environment that is safe, interesting, and appealing.</p>
<p>Experience leading and mentoring teams.</p>
<p>Well developed communication skills and demonstrated ability to work constructively with supervisors, peers, children, and parents.</p>
