<p><strong>St Mary’s Catholic Primary School &amp; Catherine McAuley Catholic Primary School<br>Co-educational, years K-6<br>Temporary, Full time Position (potential for permanency for the right candidate)<br>Commencing: Term 1 2024</strong></p> <p><strong><br>About the Role<br></strong>In recognition of the diverse needs of our school communities, we have an exciting opportunity for 2 new EAL/D Teachers to join the team one based in each school in Orange, NSW.</p> <p>English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) teachers are employed to ensure identified students are provided with appropriate support to develop their English language and literacy skills to enable them to fully participate in schooling and achieve equitable educational outcomes.</p> <p>The aims of the EAL/D teacher role in a Catholic school are to:</p> <ul> <li>Work within school teams to assist classroom teachers to develop and effectively implement responses to support the curriculum learning needs of all EAL/D students.</li> <li>Gather, analyse and use the EAL/D Learning Progressions to inform their practice, and plan, create and deliver effective and meaningful English language learning activities according to this document</li> <li>Mentor, monitor and actively engage in the English language development and academic performance of EAL/D students.</li> <li>Create a positive and engaging learning environment.<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>About You<br></strong>The new EAL/D Teacher will enrich the experiences of our students through contemporary teaching experience, relevant qualifications and meet the following selection criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, students and parents</li> <li>Experience working with children in an educational setting</li> <li>An understanding of the EAL/D Learning Progressions</li> <li>A willingness to engage in Professional Learning to develop best practice in education through professional development and working with an expert other</li> <li>The position is based in a variety of delivery models and modes of instruction</li> <li>The role may require additional hours outside of school for professional development or other school-related activities</li> <li>The successful applicant will acknowledge and agree to the requirement to work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers<strong><br><br></strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>About Our Offer<br></strong>Our teachers are valued and enjoy the many benefits of working with Catholic Education, Diocese of Bathurst.&nbsp; Some benefits include:</p> <ul> <li>Support your aspirations in your teaching leadership journey with access to leadership development</li> <li>Positive, engaging, and supportive culture</li> <li>An organisation who is committed to fostering professional growth and provides various opportunities for ongoing training and development</li> <li>Benefit from being part of a larger network within the Catholic Education system and create strong, lifelong teacher networks</li> <li>Orange has a strong community spirit, with various local events, markets, and fairs that bring residents together and contribute to a sense of belonging</li> <li>Orange is renowned for its flourishing food and wine scene, with numerous wineries, vineyards, and gourmet restaurants.
